TNTNW with Slayer Espresso

Baristas slayed last night at Gauge Design Group. Slayer Espresso pulled out the big guns and set up their latest espresso machine, the steam, in the middle of the competition floor. Surrounded by spot lights, baristas went head to head and got their hands dirty pouring lattes with the new machine.

Sign ups began at 6:00pm and within 10 minutes all 32 spots were full. As each individual signed up they were handed our new yellow jolly roger cups to pour in and take home. The stakes were higher at this event, Slayer threw in an extra $500 dollars for first place because they don’t mess around. On top of that the winner walked away with a Yama Glass Siphon, the entry money (around $160), several mugs and year subscriptions to Imbibe, Barista and Fresh Cup magazine.

Attendees hung out in the Gauge Design Group’s workshop, had plenty of beer, pizza and candy while watching the periscope live feed of the judges table on a projector. The competition was extremely fierce, as Seattle usually is. Judges spent time discussing each pour before choosing a winner. The top 3 winners earned their spot!

Congratulations to all who competed!

On the left, third place goes to Maxwell. Second place goes to Joel who is in the middle. First place goes to Summer or some may know her as Courtney!
