This 14 gram portafilter basket is shaped like our ever popular F-870 Double 14 gram basket, with a difference. 24mm tall. This is a standard size, and will fit most manufactures - most all that accept a 58 mm tamper base.
The EPF_870N is the result of Espresso Parts seeking to find a better basket than the standard baskets available at the time, which was around 2008~2009. While testing our available baskets, we found that there was a particular basket in the bunch that performed better than the others. Now all we had to do was find the people behind the work. All we can say is that as luck would have it, it seems we were looking for each other. The result was the EPHQ line of portafilter baskets with their micro-fine finish, created utilizing a technique developed by the manufacturer. This final process used in the fabrication of the baskets may be the most important. The inside bottom of the baskets receive the final cleaning using a laser to remove any jagged edges from the perforation process, and leaves a distinct sunburst pattern. The end result is that every hole in the basket is clear of metal debris and are of equal size and shape, which allows for a more even distribution of water throughout the extraction.
We are offering three different baskets at this time. The idea was to create three baskets based upon our most popular selling baskets. This is the smallest of the three.

I upgraded from my old stock Rancilio filter and I do think this new basket gives better and more even flow across the entire surface of the basket.
