Detailed Description

This 21+ gram portafilter basket is shaped like our ever popular MZ_107A "Marzocco" Double 14 gram ridgeless basket, the basket that everyone raves as one of their favorites. We think this version is even better. It stands at 28mm tall, so it will only fit portafilters that can accept a triple basket. It is easier to list which portafilters it will not fit: any portafilter that came with an espresso machine with the "Espresso Italiano" certification. Also will not fit in La Cimbali, La San Marco and La Spaziale. It will fit in the Rancilio new version portafilters, but just barely. It will not fit in the Astoria or Wega "ergonomic" portafilters because these are Espresso Italiano certified, and are designed intentionally to only accept a 12 gram basket.

The creation of perfect espresso doesn't stop at the group head. That was the stance we took when heading down the path looking for better portafilter baskets. As a result of testing a lot of baskets, we found that there was a particular basket in the bunch that performed better than the others. Now all we had to do was find the people behind the work. All we can say from here is that as luck would have it, it seems we were looking for each other. The results are these awesome portafilter baskets with a micro-fine finish, created utilizing a technique developed by the manufacturer.

The final process used in the creation of the baskets may be the most important. Not only does it leave a distinct sunburst pattern, the inside bottom of the baskets receive a final cleaning using a laser to remove any jagged edges from the perforation process. The result is that every hole in the basket is clear of metal debris and the holes are of even size and shape, allowing for a more even distribution of water throughout the extraction.

We are offering three different baskets at this time. The idea was to create three baskets based upon our most popular selling baskets.

Just bought this basket for the Bezerra Strega...it's a great addition to a great machine Easy to dose anywhere from 18 to 24 grams, and the shot quality is excellent.

Fabulous upgrade - the stream is steadier, the pucks are prettier and you really can taste the difference All for $10 - can't beat that I'm using mine in v3 Sylvia.

This basket is an amazing upgrade, I just can't picture needing anything bigger. Initially purchased for use with a Gaggia Nuova Baby, which I had to modify the PF slightly to get it to fit. Immediate improvement in the shot, as well as grit in the bottom of the cup. Then I upgraded to a Bezzera BZ02S, and this basket was also a wonderful upgrade over the smaller stock basket. Recently bought my dad one to use with his Nuova Simonelli Oscar, and he couldn't believe the difference it made in his shots. The curve of the sides even help the puck fall out easier. Pretty hard to imagine spending more than this for a VST. I doubt I'll find another upgrade this noticeable for the price.
