When using a Baratza Maestro, Maestro Plus, or Virtuoso to grind for espresso, our innovative, new PortaHolder saves time and makes the job a little easier by easily adapting your existing Baratza coffee grinder. There is no longer a need to stand and hold a portafilter in place throughout the grinding process. Simply insert the PortaHolder in the grounds bin slot, insert your portafilter into the holder, set the grind time, and you are free to walk away. The PortaHolder is easily adjusted to fit any home or commercial portafilter. The PortaHolder also makes clean up quick and easy.

Needless to say the Baratza coffee and espresso grinder is not included in the price of the product...however one may be purchased separately!

Not perfect but much better than grinding into the bin and then transferring to the portafilter. Some grounds spill to the bottom and the rest end up in a mound at the back where it's hard to see when you have the right amount. The forward tilt doesn't help so I bent the ring to hold the portafilter level. I'll probably also reduce the hook so it's easier to get a portafilter in and out and less prone to spilling.

I'm using this with a Baratza Solis (very similar to the Maestro). Everything fits perfect but you can't really "walk away". To get a proper dose you have to turn the filter by hand so that it doesn't over flow during dosing. Definitely better than scooping out of the container though.

I recently purchased a baratza portaholder for my new Virtuoso.I am not impress with the design and functionality of the unit First,the metal holder part are position to foward in the container and as you grind your coffee in the portafilter the bulk of the coffee grind end up in the back of the portafilter and by the time you have fill the portafilter you end up with a signifiant amont of coffee grind at the bottom of the grinder, Second the holding tab at the bottom of the grinder does not serve it purpose it does not retain or hold both the hopper or the portaholder in place so when you remove your portafilter full of coffee the holder come with it
