La Cimbali Group Jet Filter Screen

I recently purchased this filter screen and I got to thinking, are these a good thing or a bad thing? It filters the chunks out of the water flow so the jets do not get plugged, and yet this filter causes more hassle than the jets being plugged would. It almost seems designed to capture calcium and plug up quickly. No amount of acid dipping or decalsification seemed to clear it out so I had to buy a new one. Yes it is only $1.66 but add shipping and the time my customer was without a machine... priceless! Thanks Espresso Parts for providing quickly this part and getting my customer back to making money. There is a reason I put your sticker on the machines I work on.
