La Marzocco Style Cocobolo Wood Portafilter Handle

Hand machined custom portafilter handle replacement which is hand milled on the wood lathe from White Oak.

Cocobolo is a very beautiful wood, known to change color after being cut. It is typically orange or reddish-brown in color, often with a figuring of darker irregular traces weaving through the wood. It is fine textured and oily in look and feel, and stands up well to repeated handling and exposure to water. The wood is very hard, and is easily machined.

Will it fit my portafilter?
The 12mm O.D. threaded bolt fits a large majority of the manufacturers out there, except for La Cimbali, Nuova Simonelli, Rancilio and La San Marco, which use a 10mm bolt. One may want to remove their existing handle and check the size first. 12mm = .472 or approximately 15/32 of an inch. Remember, not all manufactures handles simply unthread from the body; some are held in place with a nut and washer. The handle may be held to the body with thread-lock on the bolt as well. In most cases, a vice is needed to remove the handle.
