Wood Portafilter Handle - Bubinga
Astoria - CMA - Wega - Faema - Standard style hand machined custom portafilter handle in Bubinga. The genus is well-known for its luxury timbers which is most often used by luthiers for harps and other instruments because of its mellow and well-rounded sound. Bubinga is also used in furniture making, usually for tables, as large slabs of the dense wood can be cut, and with very little manipulation, be used for a table top. Will it fit? The 12mm O.D. threaded bolt fits a large majority of the manufacturers out there, except for La Cimbali, Nuova Simonelli, Rancilio and La San Marco, which use a 10mm bolt. One may want to remove their existing handle and check the size first. 12mm = .472 or approximately 15/32 of an inch. Remember, not all manufactures handles simply unthread from the body; some are held in place with a nut and washer. The handle may be held to the body with thread-lock on the bolt as well. In most cases, a vice is needed to remove the handle.
