They say great minds think alike.� I don't know if we qualify but the Barismo guys have a great mind for coffee and espresso alike.
The story of the Espressocraft/Espresso Parts hybrid tamp was to be a short one. With the advent of last year's Home-Barista.com Tamper Roadshow we at Espresso Parts got to thinking about putting together the Espressocraft Handles with our pistons since both have the same thread size and pitch. We know how much everyone loves "modding" stuff we figured this would be a welcome mix for more than a few barista out there. About a month or so after we fabricated a Delrin bezel to "make it so", I ended up at the Barismo.com blog site and saw a picture of the exact tamp we had made only with a brass bezel in place of our Delrin.
Long story short, we liked the brass/stainless contrast so much that we ended up making the "hybrid" bezel out of brass too. After a few email exchanges and a new batch of our old style, taller convex tamper pistons and presto the "Barismo Spec" Espressocraft/EspressoParts hybrid was born. |
