The thread pitch on the stainless steel male adaptor fitting is coarser than the original brass steam wand to valve fitting that comes with the Silvia new. Because the new adaptor fitting is made of stainless steel, when one threads it into the valve body, one is basically re-tapping the fitting. This will require the valve to be completely removed, set in a vice, and the fitting really cranked into the valve body. In addition, this will not provide for the old original wand to be replaced once this new one is installed. Please note that the entire valve must be removed from the machine, and then there will be some tricky maneuvering to get the assembly back in.
