A much better solution for home use. The square home knock box has a cheapness about it and is very noisy. The commercial version is worth the extra money.

We are about one month into usage at a very busy coffee shop, and the base and knock bar cover are still in great shape. I bought the extra-thick cylinder cover for when it ever goes back, per the review below, but will not appear to be needed any time soon. Cleanup has gone well. Only negative is that the rubber gasket that seats into the metal frame separated in a couple weeks, so that the bar is touching metal to metal now, but no greater noise has been apparent.

The knock box is great, very quiet thanks to the rubber base, and the shape reduces mess. However, the rubber pad on the knock bar leaves something to be desired. Our pad had disintegrated with in the first week of use.

This knockbox is great when you need an on the counter box and don't have a lot of counter space. The built in backsplash saves a lot of counter/wall cleanup. The rubber base works great to limit sliding. The only problem I've had is the bar itself. Because it does not lock in place and the rubber wrapping is too thin, we went through our first bar in 3 weeks (at a pretty busy shop). But I replaced this bar with one like is used in the Rattleware knockboxes and it has solved the problem and provided us with a great countertop box.
